We are currently recruiting for a HSEQ Manager/ Officer to join our Team. You will be responsible for supporting Director of Operations on the HSEQ strategy and objectives. Also, to support line management in delivering HSEQ objectives. Vortex is a leading provider of offshore support vessels and tugs with a fleet expanding to 15 plus vessels.
What You Will Be Doing
As a HSEQ Manager – You will lead, develop and maintain VORTEX HSEQ management programs and systems globally in compliance with ISM, ISO & OVMSA principles .
Job Responsibilities
• Execute (in conjunction with line management) the strategic direction determined by the Managing Director/ Director of Operations for the continuous improvement of HSEQ management program and systems.
• Advise line management and assist with the implementation of new or existing HSEQ-related legislation, rules and Company standards to include: fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections of Company and contractors’ sites.
• Lead safety incident investigations, provide HSEQ expertise during the investigation including that of Customer Complaints, provides support and expertise to line management, monitor corrective actions and ensure all documentation is updated.
• Take full responsibility for regional preparations and execution of periodic health, safety and quality assurance audits.
• Assist in managing vendors through improvements based on non-conformities, supplier audits and KPI’s.
• Advises line management on health, safety, quality and environmental matters and manages this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day to day processes and operations.
• Manage, fill and monitor tender documents related to HSEQ
• Guide regional management or project teams on HSEQ related projects and tasks as they arise to ensure HSEQ principles are integrated.
• Monitor, analyse and regularly report HSEQ trends & statistics of set critical performance indicators to the management team as agreed or required by applicable legislation, regulations, adopted Industry and HSEQ standards, programs or best practices.
• Advice pro-actively to and keep the management team abreast of any suggestions for improvement, areas of concern etc. that need regional / global focus and/or follow up.
• Pro-actively analyse, identify, report & share learnings with vessel fleet and employees globally through regular communications to improve the organizations HSEQ awareness and performance.
• Further develop the safety & HSE reputation of the organization’s during client inspections, audits, inspections by representing and participation in such audits and inspections
• Improve & Develop HSEQ Awareness and Behaviour
• Guide train & develop for vessel crew, management and local employees in the area of HSEQ.
• Pro-actively analyse, identify, report & share learnings with Ship staff and employees globally through regular communications to improve the organizations HSEQ awareness and performance.
• Pro-actively report to management on the status, progress, achievements and concerns in achieving agreed objectives & deadlines.
• Travelling to various ports in the world where our vessel are engaged for implementation of systems or training or inspections or audits or investigation as required.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Trained Internal Auditor ISM, ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or willing to be certified.
• Nebosh, incident investigation certified
• Certified DPA , CSO
• Knowledge & work experience in Offshore vessel operators is an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics & Offshore industry.
• Demonstrable experience in OVMSA , OVID, ISM, ISPS MLC and ISO
