VORTEX OFFSHORE Senior Management believes that the Safety and Health of its employees, as well as the general public, together with the protection of the Environment are the overriding consideration in carrying out its diverse marine operations.
The continuous improvement of the Company’s Safety, Health and Environmental culture, embracing as it does the standards of services provided, constitutes the key element of VORTEX’s strategic objectives in delivering the highest level of quality to its customers.
VORTEX OFFSHORE’s Management will make available the necessary resources and is committed to continuously measure and improve its Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality performance.
VORTEX OFFSHORE is committed to the achievement of its HSE and Quality policy through the attainment of the following goals:
- Ensure that vessels operating under VORTEX’s management are maintained in conformity with the ISM Code, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 standards and maintain a safe and pollution-free operating practice.
- Compliance with all applicable local, international, statutory, regulatory and customer requirements in respect of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
- Provide risk management and control measures for all identifiable hazards in the firm aim for zero injuries and to be prepared for any operational emergency that may arise.
- Practice regular safety and emergency drills on board vessels under VORTEX’s management and develop a culture of HSE and Quality awareness, personal discipline and accountability through application of the HSE and Quality Management System.
- Promote open communications and employees’ participation in measures aimed at continuously improving Safety, Health, Quality and protection of the Environment.
- Recruit well qualified and experienced masters and crew, holding certificates complying with STCW’95 regulations. Continuously improving their performance through identifying their training needs and motivating the vessels’ owners in providing the necessary resources.
- Deliver a high and continuously improving level of Quality standards of services by recognizing and meeting customers’ needs, requirements and expectations.
- Ensure adherence at all times to the documented HSEQ operating procedures, through a system of internal audits, controls and verification.
It is the responsibility of personnel from Top Management through to all members of ships crews, to commit themselves fully to the goals of the HSEQ policy; to follow procedures and instructions at all times and to take the necessary precautions to protect and care for themselves, their colleagues, any passengers, the ship, its cargo, and the environment.
